Inderpal Saund, Beijer Ref Academy, Winner – Excellence in Training, AIRAH National Awards 2025

Beijer Ref proudly congratulates Inderpal (Indy) Saund, Beijer Ref Academy, on receiving the AIRAH National Award for Excellence in Training for 2025.

Indy (Beijer Ref Business Development Director APAC) has been a driving force in advancing knowledge of natural refrigerants across the HVAC&R industry. As one of the trainers at the Beijer Ref Academy in Sydney, he delivers engaging, practical and industry-relevant training, drawing on extensive experience in technical, engineering, sales and business development roles at Beijer Ref and through previous roles.

A strong advocate for shared industry learning, Indy is known for his openness, generosity and ability to translate complex concepts into accessible, technician-focused education. His teaching style emphasises collaboration, real-world experience and genuine connection with participants.

Since 2019, Indy has played a pivotal role in developing and delivering CO₂ training programs, including service, repair, design, system control and advanced fault-finding modules. His contributions have shaped the Academy’s in-house training materials, combining engineering documentation, field insights and global best practice.

Indy’s influence extends across the APAC region, where he has trained technicians and educators in India, Singapore, Korea and New Zealand. His hands-on involvement in installation, commissioning and troubleshooting has supported the development of natural refrigerant capability across emerging markets. He has also introduced innovative approaches—such as integrating interpreters and customised site visits – to ensure international participants gain maximum value.

In accepting the award, Indy dedicated the honour to his father, also a refrigeration technician, who first introduced him to the trade through a visit to an ammonia plant at just nine years of age. This early influence continues to inspire his commitment to developing the next generation of HVAC&R professionals.

Through his leadership in natural refrigerant technology and his unwavering commitment to technician development, Indy continues to elevate skills and standards across the HVAC&R sector. Beijer Ref is proud to celebrate his well-deserved recognition at the 2025 AIRAH National Awards.
