CO2 refrigerant, also known as R744, is refrigerant-grade carbon dioxide supplied by Kirby through the Gas2Go range for refrigeration applications. R744 has zero ozone depletion potential and an ultra-low global warming potential.
CO2 refrigeration systems operate at high pressures and have a low critical temperature, so equipment and components must be suitable for R744 operation. R744 can also be used alongside other refrigerants in cascade refrigeration systems.
