Business System Upgrade October 2020

As part of the ongoing investment in our organization, Kirby have undertaken an ERP system upgrade and will be migrating to our new system early October, 2020.

Whilst we expect minimal interruption and will endeavour to maintain regular service through our branch network, the change to the system means that there will be a maintenance period for Smart Access and there may be some delays with our electronic processes through this time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Once the implementation is complete, there will be changes to the formatting of our quotations, invoices, reports and statements.

For any other concerns relating to this change please contact your sales representative or local branch on 13 23 50, alternatively please email enquiries to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

COVID-19 Customer Service Update 7th August 2020

To our valued customers,

We have continued to operate our stores safely through the COVID-19 pandemic and the precautions that have been implemented throughout this remain in place today.

We thank you for your ongoing support as we are again reminded of the challenging circumstances at the height of the pandemic in Victoria. We understand this may also be creating hardship for many and that some additional support may be required.

In line with the Victorian State Government requirements, our stores remain open to trade as an essential service to trade customers as is the nature of our business. We continue to maintain social distancing, maintaining the highest hygiene standards and note additional precautions have been taken in our Victorian stores as follows:

  • Masks to be worn in-line with State Government requirements
  • Trade customers & couriers only and in Victorian locations (no visitors)
  • Designated pickup location for pre-ordered parts
  • Restrictions on the use of store facilities including catering / meeting areas

We continue to take proactive steps to limit non-essential presence in our branches prioritising the customers, customer service staff and transport providers. To help minimise contact time in our branches we encourage customers to order in advance using phone, email or the Kirby smart@ccess Click & Collect facility. Preorders will be made ready for collection or delivery pending your requirements.

Customers can gain access to our smart@ccess portal by registering through http://www.kirbyhvacr.com.au/2013-01-31-04-15-26 or making contact with your local representative. Our branches will also continue to provide after-hours access using 13 23 50, and your call will be redirected to your local branch after-hours service.

Kirby 2020 Apprentice Packs Distributed

Kirby is pleased to have completed the distribution of 2020 Kirby Apprentice Packs to apprentices who registered into the fund up to 30 June 2020. All the apprentices have been extremely grateful for the support given! Apprentices that missed out are encouraged to register here http://www.kirbyhvacr.com.au/kirby-apprentice-fund-registration.

To support skill development amongst apprentices, Kirby also recently conducted an Introduction to CO2 Training Webinar for registered apprentices across SA and NT. Another session is scheduled for Tuesday 15 September 2020. All HVACR apprentices interested in an introduction to CO2 principles, safety and application are encouraged to dial in. Attendance is FREE. Invites and more details will be distributed early September.

Kirby also wishes to thank all Kirby customers who supported the recent Kirby Apprentice Fund Kirby Hoodies initiative to kick start Year 2 of the Kirby Apprentice Fund. The sale raised over $3500, with 100% to be allocated to the Fund. Kirby will continue to raise money through the sale of Kirby T-shirts through our branches.

Customers pleased to support the Fund can also choose to contribute a voluntary $1 Apprentice Fund Contribution at point of sale, knowing 100% will go back to supporting our industry apprentices.

Kirby thanks our supply partners for their support and generosity

Kirby Apprentice Fund celebrates 1 year

On World Refrigeration Day in June, the Kirby Apprentice Fund celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary. The Fund accumulated $6,065 in donations with 83 HVACR apprentices registered over 63 companies.

The fund-raising efforts made by Kirby staff, customers and suppliers CPS, Supercool Group, Testo, Fieldpiece, HLP Controls, Danfoss, Emerson, Tesuco, Sauermann, VetoProPak and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has enabled the fund to distribute inaugural packs containing trade tools, maintenance product, merchandise and literature valued over $450 each to every apprentice registered up to 30 June 2020.

South Australia and Northern Territory based Sims Refrigeration, was one business who embraced the intent of the Fund early and registered 9 apprentices. Owner David Sims commented;

“Sims was pleased to have supported the Kirby Apprentice Fund through the purchase of Kirby t-shirts. Kirby is an active industry member having trained our technicians in CO2 systems technology, so it made sense to support them in this excellent initiative. I encourage all business owners to register their apprentices and support the Kirby Apprentice Fund.”

Kirby developed the Kirby Apprentice Fund to support HVACR trade apprentices with easier access to trade tools and skills training. CO2 systems training webinars and additional supplier product training will be conducted throughout the remainder of the year to enhance skill development.

“The effort made by all parties has resulted in a commendable contribution to strengthening our trade", added Elizabeth Paparo, Kirby communications lead.

"The recipient apprentices have shown gratitude for their packs that would not have been possible without the generosity of our suppliers. Their willingness to be part of this initiative in tough economic times demonstrates their commitment to our industry apprentices.”

“Kirby looks forward continuing to build the Fund over the coming years.”
