Kirby I.T. System Interruptions May 2020 - Update

To our valued customers,

As has been seen in recent times, there has been increased fraudulent activities targeting companies in our region. We regret to advise that the Kirby system interruption experienced on the 30th of April, 2020 was the result of a third party intrusion into the Kirby network.

This has had an immediate impact on our store operations and we subsequently disconnected and suspended our business systems and the connection to the affected environment.

Our ability to transact in store has had minimal interruption this week and all stores are now back online to assist you with your everyday and project requirements with normal order processing now resumed.

Our Smart Access platform will remain suspended whilst we restore all services ensuring that system security is paramount before we relaunch this online for customers.

We pass on our sincere apologies for this disruption and any inconvenience you may have experienced, and we will provide further updates as appropriate.

Dear Customers,

We have been experiencing some system interruptions that have affected our store terminals, printers and Smart Access from the 30th April, 2020.

For any transactions conducted online, including online payments there may be a delay in processing these. Please ensure that you are following up orders or payments on the phone for anything urgent.

We are working to resolve this as a matter of urgency and are mindful that in an environment like this, the best method to transact with us will be in-store to ensure continuity.

There have been no disruptions with email and our stores can be contacted on 13 23 50. Your nearest branch can be located here

Kirby Select Project Tool

Kirby continues to invest in the industry recognised Kirby Smart@ccess online tool. The most recent update to Smart@ccess further enhances the project quoting capability of the Kirby Select™ tool.

Kirby customers can now add product mark-ups and a labour component to all product selections to create customer quotations. Both Kirby and Non-Kirby items can be included within the quote and the quotes can be personalised with the customers own company details including logo and terms and conditions.

Kirby Select™ is already established as a project tool that enables fast and reliable heat load calculations and product selections. The extra functionality now completes the project quoting process. Once customers have prepared a quote in Smart@ccess it can be stored, printed or emailed directly to their customer and saved for future reference.

“The ability to add a product mark-up, labour component and extra parts such as coolroom panelling or electrical components, now means everything is included in the one quote. The quote can also include system parameters, estimated system performance and detailed Kirby product specifications”, commented Kirby sales and marketing manager Brett Hedge.

Another component of Kirby Select™ is the ability for users to add and store their customers details.

The customer database allows users to assign specific product and labour mark-ups per customer. The tool will store the quote against the customer’s history for follow-up and future cross-referencing.

“Smart@ccess is built on the principle of improving productivity and these new features build on that philosophy”, said Hedge.

The Kirby Smart@ccess tool is a current ARBS Industry Award finalist recognised for its leading cylinder management functionality. All customers can gain access to the portal by registering through or by contacting their local Kirby representative.


Temporary Disruption to SmartAccess Service

Dear Kirby SmartAccess Users,

We are currently experiencing intermittent issues regarding your access to the smartaccess portal. We’re aware of the issue and are working on it as a priority.

The issue includes online orders being received by our branches. If you have placed any online orders in the last 3 days, we recommend you contact the pickup branch to check the order has been received.

We’re very sorry for this disruption and hope to have everything up and running again as soon as possible. We will update you here again when the situation is resolved.
